"Smart growth, efficient government, and diversification."
The MAJOR problem with the Commissioner position is property taxes.

  • Property taxes have increased 2x (double) within the last 5 years in Charles County, MD; while, the actual property Market Value has dropped at least (30%).

The Treasurer's direct responsibility is to collect real and personal property taxes, account for all funds and revenues for the county. Coordinated the collection of junior taxes districts and administering short and long-term debt financing.

The lack of managerial strategy with efficiency planning had led to an increase in property taxes. The lack of proactive anticipation of the Market Value of real estate in Charles County has weaken the county financial forecast. As your Charles County Commissioner, if elected, I will bring Private executive managerial strategic experience to evaluate an equilibrium between the administering short and long-term debt financing and LOW property TAXES.

"TAXES, TAXES, TAXES."
Issues in Charles County, MD
"I’m running for Charles County, Maryland Commissioner because I believe my contribution to Charles County Government will be a positive influence to the long time goals of its citizens. These goals include LOW property taxation, efficient government, and long-term strategic planning.  My private sector experience in business will be an asset to the reduction of local government financial services costs to County taxpayers.  I will honor the privilege to serve my fellow citizens of Charles County as Commissioner."

For Charles County, Maryland Commissioner
"Transportation"
We need metro rail to get to Charles County. This will reduce the influx of traffic from the Highway 210 and 301. The County Commissioners should be proactive in anticipating the need for smart growth structure like metro rail.
" Jobs"
The county needs to develop a plan to bring corporation and high level jobs to the county. Even though, Charles County is closer to Washington DC than Loudoun County. They seem to be doing a better job at recruiting corporations. We need to be proactive in giveing tax incentives to corporations to make the county more attractive for business. The multiplication effects on the tax incentives will be beneficial to the county by broadening the tax base.

" Health Care"
As the ONLY health care executive on the race for commissioner, I will like to build a stronger partnership between Civista and an academic institution for developing better health care for our county taxpayers. The lack of a comprehensive health program in the county has led to a health care crisis.

Six year ago, I had a proposal for the clinic in Nanjemoy. The plan was to make the clinic a satellite clinic and move daily operations to the mostly dense part of the county. (route 5 and 301 corridors). Income on patients encounters will increase due to volume and this will provide more operational funds for the clinic. My ideas in 2004 was not supported even by the Health Department. I met with County officials and Great Baden Executive they gave me a cold shoulder.  Six years later, they have arrived to my original ideas. Charles County citizens cannot afford this gross incompetency of their elected official and county department of health.  As a tested and successful health care executive, I plan to be extremely proactive in the development of comprehensive health care plan for the next five years.
